It’s hard to recognize the truth when it’s considered normal for millions to look the other way and to continue living in intentional ignorance. It’s hard to learn the truth when millions are spent to keep you from knowing the horrors that really exist. It’s hard to overcome those obstacles and to be the person who speaks out, but when such an evil has become commonplace - it is CRUCIAL to educate and share that truth with others.

Epic. Well said

This breaks my heart. After having a child of my own, I feel the pain of this on a deeper level than ever before. To think of the mother nurturing her little calf in the womb, going through labor, and then having her baby taken away from her before she can even get to know or feed the little being that she created, it’s so devastating and tragic. It makes me cry to imagine the heartache that the mother and calf both feel. It’s cruel to separate a mother from her young in such a way. All animals are sentient beings with feelings.
And all of this, this is all so that people can LOOK THE OTHER WAY and eat their dairy made from the milk that was MEANT for the calf. It’s fucking sad. Pleasing tastebuds is apparently more significant than the suffering of fellow creatures who walk on this earth, just as we do.
People say things like, “I could never give up cheese.” I once thought that. I was a vegetarian and I thought vegans were just “extreme”. When I finally stopped looking the other way though, there was no turning back. I can’t mindlessly indulge in animal products when I know the suffering that is involved. It sickens me that many people simply don’t care. Whenever I think I miss dairy, I remember the cruelty and I refuse to contribute to it.
Maintaining a vegan lifestyle isn’t extreme. This is. This and all the other injustices that animals go through is so that people can continue living uninterrupted, so that they don’t have to sacrifice a bit of food for their body. Never mind what the animals sacrificed for that food…
